  • in government, accounts for too much wasted time that elected officials spend on politically motivated activities and personal and political agenda when they should be working full time for the people they serve.

 

The term "Competitive Powerhouse" that GCC uses above refers to all types of organizations and institutions both public and private including for-profit organizations, not-for-profit entities, and the institutions of government.

GCC believes that all types of organizations compete in some way.

For-Profit Types usually compete for the sale of their products and services.

Not-For-Profit Types such as charitable organizations, religious institutions, etc., are often not regarded as "competitors" in the same sense as "for-profit" enterprises, but they in fact do compete, for example, for funds, for new members, and for other resources in order to be able to continue their operations.

Also, government institutions compete, for example, with private-sector organizations for the delivery of certain, government services, for human resources, and for budget resources to carry out the work for which they are responsible.

GCC, therefore, maintains that all types of organizations and institutions whether they are for-profit enterprises, not-for-profit entities, government institutions, religious organizations, etc., do, indeed, all possess a "competitive" component.

So all types of organizations and institutions should operate under the premise that they are in competition with others, if they are to be the best at what they do in carrying out their mission.
